Puppy Care Packet

Important Information: When you take your puppy home with you, you will need some very important information.  The Puppy Care Packet will have everything you need.  Most of the information in the Puppy Care Packet is found on our website in the Puppy Page.  The Trupanion one-month of free pet insurance is found here.  The BAXTER & Bella Puppy Training information and your 25% off discount code is found here.  The Go Home instruction document is found here.  A copy of the Puppy Contract is found here.  The Grooming Guide and Product Recommendations link is found here.

Important Dates: When you pick up your puppy, you will need to take your puppy to their veterinarian within 3 business days of pick up.  This is part of the 3 day health guarantee and the details are included in the Puppy Contract.  You will also have 24 hours from pick up time to activate your one month of free pet insurance through Trupanion.

Puppy Gifts: In your Puppy Care Packet, you will find many items.  I've added different items and items may vary in each bag.  Items such as a bag of puppy food, blankets, Snuggle Puppy, small puppy toys, chew bones, Kong doggie treats, portable water bowls, poop bags, puppy shampoo, brush, and custom made bandanas can be included in the Puppy Care Packet.

Puppy Food: All Puppy Care Packets will include a bag of puppy food to get you started.  Our Medium and Standard Puppies are eating Purina Pro Plan Large Breed Puppy Food Chicken and Rice.  The link to the puppy food is found in the 'Must Have Items' section of this page.  Your puppy, at this age (2 months), should be eating between 1/2 cup to 1-1/4 cup of puppy food daily, according to the specifications on the back of the puppy food bag.  If your puppy is having a hard adjustment to their new home, you can add a bit of goat milk to their food.  This is how we started them on puppy food and they might find it comforting.

Health Records: I will also give you the health records from our veterinarian.  It will give you the information you need of when the puppies were dewormed and vaccinated.  Please take these to your puppy's veterinarian, as they will need it.

Microchip Information: In the packet, you will also find information on how to register your puppy's microchip under your name and personal information.  Please do this as soon as possible.  If you need any assistance in registering your microchip, please contact Fi Nano's (the microchip company) help desk at nanosupport@tryfi.com

Puppy Protection: And one final note, please protect your puppy as much as possible from harmful and deadly illnesses, such as Parvo.  Please consider the rule "four off the floor".  This means when taking your puppy out, keep their paws off the ground until they have had all their vaccinations from their veterinarian.  When taking them to their veterinarian, please do not let them roam free on the floor.  Consider carrying them or placing them in a crate.  Your puppy still does not have all the antibodies to protect itself from these harmful diseases.  In our home, when we have puppies, we sanitize our shoes with a Clorox solution before entering.  We take precautions seriously and do all we can to protect our puppies.  If you have any questions regarding what precautions to take, please reach out.  We will help as much as we can!
